I’d like to introduce you all to one of my favorite side dishes, appetizers, snacks of all time.
What is Haemul Pajeon?
Haemul Pajeon is a Korean style pancake comprised of seafood and scallions. The seafood varies, but usually contains squid and shrimp. The batter is also on the lighter, using a mix of all-purpose flour and potato starch to ensure the signature crispiness all throughout the pancake. I’m sure any Korean restaurant you visit has this on their menu – they make it huge as well!

Although making Haemul Pajeon from scratch is quite easy, what can beat time saved in the kitchen? @Hansangtv Hansang’s Frozen Green Onion Pancake with Seafood is perfect for those looking to whip up something delicious in a short amount of time. This is seriously one of the best items you can get in the frozen section.
Honest Review/Thoughts:
- For a small pancake, it sure does hold a lot of seafood!
- Serve this with some ramyun, or simply have a side of soy-sesame dipping sauce.
- The bag suggests using the conventional oven, but I definitely recommend pan frying. If pan frying, don’t forget to defrost first!!
- The only thing that I would say is that I wish it came with a premade dipping sauce, but despite that, I would buy these again in a heartbeat.

Conventional Oven Method
- Preheat oven to 356 deg. Fahrenheit
- Heat for 8-10 minutes

Frying Pan Method
- Preheat a frying pan with about 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
- Place thawed pancake into the pan
- Pan fry for 4-5 minutes, until golden and crispy.
